Name
Andrew Michael Freeman
Where are you from?
I'm from Reading but was born in Epsom in Surrey, both in the UK.
Troubled childhood?
I was one of the few Goths in history who also belonged to the Croydon Communist Party. Not troubled at all.
Number of Children?
5 - I always dreamed of the Freeman footbal team.
What do you do?
I spend some time working on the Reading Boiler Room team, some time
helping other cities do Boiler Rooms and some time doing some writing
and some time being a dad.
Favourite websites
www.cricket365.com - Spend a lot of time on BBC site for radio and on film sites. Sport, music and film sums up much of my life.
Best 24-7 experience?
Meeting some amazing people. Lots of amazing people in lots of cities
I’d never been to before. Flying to other countries. If I had to pick
one thing (and that’s hard) probably the most life changing experience
has been my two times in Amsterdam with the Foolish Things. Full of
Christians, having fun, radically serving the neediest people, and
seeing God turn up. They never fail to inspire me.
What have you learnt about prayer?
If a relationship with Jesus isn’t the first, last and middle thing you
do, you’re on sticky ground. Everything comes back to prayer.
Everything comes back to me at the Father’s feet and His love. At
that’s a big Him and a little me.
First and last cds you bought?
The first was Madness ‘Baggy Trousers’. The last was Moby 'Hotel' -
it's still growing on me. Favourite Album is 'The Joshua Tree' U2
Best and worst things about 24-7 Prayer?
The best thing is the people you meet. The worst is early morning train
journeys to Chichester (24-7's International Base).
Favourite coffee?
Anything fairly traded and maybe even organic if I’m lucky.
One thing your never caught without?
My trousers.
Your ultimate dream?
A chance to actually make a difference in social issues across the UK.
I get fed up when I see major trends in society which directly affect
the poor and then hear people suggest politics can’t make a difference.
It can with Jesus at it’s heart. I’d love a go one day.
